This little device has proved useful! Love the ability to check on cottage temps. Our cottage is located in a place where we get frigid temps (-35) We don’t have options for internet that would allow us to have a WiFi enabled thermostat like we have at home. Because this little device runs off of either Verizon at AT&T cell towers we have service for this. We have the Verizon service device as that’s what’s works best for us. Recently the exhaust on our furnace iced over causing the furnace to stop working. We immediately received a message when the temp of the cottage fell below the safe zone (which you get to choose the temp) My husband was able to get to the cottage and remedy the issue with the frozen exhaust before any “real” freezing issues would have happened. Initial investment and low monthly cost is a no brainer compared to the thousands of dollars we would have had in damage for just that one instance! You have the ability to only subscribe for part of the year which is what we do since we don’t have worries of the temps in the summer. Would definitely recommend this to anyone with a vacation home where you don’t have internet and the temps could cause freezing of pipes and such!

We purchased this to monitor the winter temps in our seasonal tiny house. It could not have been easier to set up and the options for plans is great. We opted for the 6 month seasonal plan. There are also many options for notifications for low temp, low humidity and low power. The only reason I did not give it 5 starts is due to the fact you have to pay extra to refresh the temp manually, which you really do not need in our case and of course it still monitors 24/7 and reports if the perimeters set are hit.

I leave my home in PA to winter in Florida but have always had concerns about the heating system shutting down. Before leaving I set temperature at both zones at 50 and have set the low limit range as 42. If the temperature falls blow 42, the system will send me either a text, call or email. I selected text. The first unit that I received was defective and failed within a few days. I contacted the factory customer support and talked to one of the owners (how many times has that happened in your life time?) I explained the problem and owner directed me send it back to the dealer (Amazon) When the new unit arrived, I called customer support, gave them the serial number of the new unit and within minutes they had made the changes to the system. This company has some the most amazing customer service that I've ever seen. I'm so impressed with this unit that I plan on buying another for my FLorida home. This unit has it's own cell phone transmission system for periodic updates so I didn't need to leave my wifi on. This unit also monitors humidity and of course power. If you have a power failure, it will send out a message as it does have a battery backup. It's always nice to know what's going on with your home when you're away for extended periods.
